I remember when I was filling out my application form for Bizness Babes. I wrote I really needed help, as I was drowning in paperwork. Kerry who is now my business mentor, said that she couldn’t, not take me on after reading that!
I had got myself into an awful mess by ignoring the "business side of things". By the time I started the Bizness Babes course I had two years worth of paper work to go through and I also needed to put in my tax returns.
Fast-forward. Six months later, I had faced the mountain I had made out of a molehill and trudged through the paperwork I had been drowning in. I must say that at the time, I felt like I had achieved the BIGGEST thing!! I now knew how much money had passed through the business, how much had been spent on outgoings and how much profit I had made. Completing my tax also worked out to be not half as bad as I had anticipated.
So ONE BIG tip from me (and yes I actually do what I am about to write)
Take time out one day in the last week of every month to get your paperwork and tax in order. You will save a lot of heartache in the long run and you will know exactly where you are at. Yes it is common sense, but we don’t always do what is the best for ourselves now, do we?
