What is the Bizness Babes Business Program?
Our Business Development Program is a series of workshops supported by business coaching that explores all the elements of successful business.
Who can apply for Bizness Babes?
Preference for places in our Business Development program is given to mothers who do not have access to mainstream business education. Some of our courses are also open to women who do not have access to mainstream education. Sometimes our funding creates a specific criteria for applications eg, geographic or demographic
To apply for Bizness Babes do I have to be a mother?
Preference is given to mothers. Some of our funding requires all positions to be given to mothers. Sometimes our funding enables us to offer places to other women.
Is it true you offer child care?
Yes, for our Business Development Course we offer free or subsidized child care for participants.
What can I expect for lunch?
A great sandwich and some excellent conversation. Special dietary needs above what we can get from a café you might need to bring your own.
Do I have to have started a business to be eligible?
No, many of our participants have lots of ideas and are not sure which one to pursue.
I’ve already started my business. Am I still eligible?
It depends on the state of your business. If you have been operating as a hobby or as a business for a short amount of time and need help to make a profit then you may be eligible for the Business Development Program
Do I need to attend all of the workshops?
Absolutely. We pack a lot into the training days and we expect that you are available to attend all of the workshops.
Do you offer mentoring for women already in business?
This is something we are working on…watch this space.
How many places are available in each program?
A maximum of 15 places are available.
I’ve heard you have a waiting list to participate?
Yes! Our Business Development Program is in high demand. We want to offer more courses – but we need more sponsorship!
I have lots of ideas and don’t know where to start. Can you help?
Yes! We love new ideas and lots of ideas. However at some stage you have to decide which one is worth pursuing. We can help you come to your own conclusions about which one.
I’m looking to learn more about just the financial side of my business. Can you help?
Yes. But there is a process. The financial management of your business is only one part of the bigger picture. Until you understand all the elements of business success you can’t create appropriate financial management.
Are your workshops available online?
Not yet. We hope to be able to offer an on-line version sometime in the future… watch this space.
What is the catch to the program, it all seems to good to be true?
There is no catch! Our sponsors and supporters recognize the value of Bizness Babes. We know it’s important to get the content right as well as the environment to enable to greatest chance for participation and success.
Who is the Wise Foundation?
The Wise Foundation is our major supporter. The core mission of the Wise foundation is to: “Strengthen communities through assisting the creation of innovative economic models”. The Wise foundation was formed in April 2008 to carry forward the community development and social obligations of The Body Shop Australia, the Adidem group of companies and the Wise family.
Do all applicants get a place?
No. We have waiting lists and not all applicants are fit the criteria.
Do I automatically get a place on the next program if I miss out?
No. For each program applications are assessed or re-assessed for suitability.
