First blog post for the new Bizness Babes website!

Wow! Don’t we look glamorous. Our new branding and website makes us all feel just a little more polished and professional.

And what a journey the rebranding and website rebuilding has been. As all of you Babes know it’s not easy to take something you love (Bizness Babes) and find the right look and feel to do it justice.

The process was long and challenging, but we walked the talk of our Bizness Babes Small Business Development Course and it ended up just as we planned - fabulous.

We started the branding process by creating a series of mood boards for our designers www.dfine.com.au. The first mood board captured the feelings, emotions and ideas of the Bizness Babes program – what we stand for and believe in. The second highlighted the colours, fonts and imagery we liked.

After a couple of different ideas, some tweaking and negotiating the logo was born and we are proud to have it as our identifying brand image. The squares represent the four keys to business success we talk about during the Small Business Development Course. Bringing it all together at the centre.

After we were happy with the logo we developed another series of mood boards for the website - the look, the feel, the vibe. We sent through lots of links to websites we loved and loathed. As well as how we wanted it to look we described what we wanted the website to do, now and in the future so the back end could be as fancy as the visual side.

Once the design was decided we went out to our graduate photography Babes and Helen Jolly helenjollyphotography@yahoo.com.au developed a marvellous pitch for our business. Helen currently features on the home page of our site having cleverly set up her son to take the photo of her and her daughter. She was able to capture all of the people and businesses featured on the site in such a beautiful way capturing the celebratory mood we wanted the site to project.

Each of the team members chose something they love to be photographed with and to talk about so you get to know something more about us than just what we do. I love how honest all the team was in revealing such a personal thing to the world (especially Liana :)  ).

There have been a number of hiccups and challenges with the front and back end that we are still working through but today, yes right now, the blog is working and that’s a good thing.
